Madeleine(10) At the 2012 USA national championships Madeleine confided in her coach that she was afraid of racing with girls her own age in the 10-12 year old division because they were so unstable and dangerous. The coach said 'if you stay in front of them you will be okay'. Unfortunately there was a crash behind her and one of the bicycles was launched forward and knocked Madeleine from behind. She didn't even see it coming. I was a wreck in the stands and couldn't get to my child fast enough. Despite the blood dripping down her leg and a bump on the head (that we later learned was a concussion) Madeleine got up and got right back on her bike. The officials tried to pull her out of the race but when her coach reached her she said "I want to ride coach!" She finished 13th in that race and 7th overall and also won the title of New England Champion 2012 of the girls 10 -12 category.

Alexander (11) At his first USA national championship race Alexander won the bronze medal. He won another bronze and came in 4th overall in the country at the 2012 National Championships. Alexander also won the New England championships last weekend and asked his coach if he would please give him more difficult trainings so he has a better chance to win the National title next year. Alexander dreams about riding the Tour de France with both of his brothers someday.

Nicholas (14) Nicholas finished 12th at the 2012 USA national championships and won the title of New England Champion 2012 just last week. Now that he is getting accustomed to life and racing in America we expect him to excel once he feelscomfortable.

Elizabeth (15) Elizabeth finished 14th at the 2012 USA nationals and won the 2012 New England Championship last Sunday. She tried out for the freshman field hockey team at Pinkerton Academy and made Junior Varsity. For the last few weeks she has been training at Pinkerton 5 days a week until 5pm, eating dinner in the car on her way to cycling training and races that begin at 6. She is proud of her New England Champion title but eager to concentrate on hockey.

Christopher(19) By the end of the season last year Christopher was winning everything in Europe. When we returned to the USA in the fall 2011 the children had to start over again and the lowest categories but within 5 months of racing Christopher has worked his way up to elite racing at he highest levels. He came in 7th in a race against the USA Olympian Bobbie Lee. Christopher has won the most points in a series of (U23) national races and was one of two boys to represent the United States in Europe for the Under 23 category in October. He will be competing for the 2012 Elite New England Champion title this weekend.
